In our ‘two minutes with’ blog posts, you can get to know the members of the Carnsight Communications PR team even better. In today’s post, we’re getting to know Sam Alexander, one of the brillient freelance copywriters that we work with.

Name: Sam Alexander

Job title: Copywriter

Joined Carnsight: 2016ish

Why PR?: The scope for stimulating flexible word-related work.

Preferred social media channel? None. I often think I should take the plunge, but a brief dalliance with Twitter circa 2014  put me off. I feel simultaneously left out and relieved not to be more digitally entangled with others.

How do you have your coffee in the morning?: Tasting remarkably like tea.

Dream job as a child?: Archaeologist… but mainly because I liked the word

Sum yourself up in three words: Europhile, wordsmith, oomph.

What’s your star sign/ Myers Briggs type?: Pisces/Thanks for this prompt to Google this – early explorations indicate my type is The Giver.

Where did you grow up? Where were you born?: Thame (Ox/Bucks border). Kilburn (north-west London)

Favourite book to date?: Currently ‘Therapy’ by David Lodge

Favourite movie?: Currently ‘My Neighbour Totoro’.

Favourite dog breed:  Hot dog

Do you have any pets?: Kittens coming imminently, according to my wife and son…

Favourite word?: Quintessential

Least favourite word?: Offering

Ideal music playlist: Funky jazzy 90s soul.

Dream holiday destination:  France (having cancelled a family trip this year). Might as well be Antarctica these days…

Any role models?: Tim Dowling, Alain de Bottan

Something about you we would never be able to guess: A double-decker bus ran over my foot on Christmas Eve 1995.

Name 3 things that make you happy: Fish n’ chips followed by family disco night. A pint in a pub after a long country walk. The feeling you get when you’ve just handed in your homework.
