We’re back with another short and snappy edition of our ‘two minutes with’ blog posts, where you can get to know the members of the Carnsight Communications team a little bit better. This week we’re shining the spotlight on Alexandra, our resident Aussie in the office.

Name: Alexandra Johansen.

Job title: Account Executive.

Joined Carnsight: 13 April, 2023.

Why PR? I’ve always been enamoured with the written word. Language and literature are something I hold close to my heart, and I’m also a big people person – so I love that PR and Comms are disciplines that draw on these things.

Preferred social media channel? Hmm…I guess maybe Pinterest.

How do you have your coffee in the morning? I’m a Nespresso gal – single shot espresso with a decent helping of foamy full-cream milk. In true cappuccino fashion, I’m partial to a dusting of cocoa if I’m feeling extra fancy!

Dream job as a child? Honestly I had so many – I wanted to be an actress, author, ballerina, singer etc. all at once at one stage! After that I was really keen on studying International Relations and working with NGOs like Amnesty or the UN before finding my passion in PR.

Sum yourself up in three words: energetic, sporadic and contemplative.

What’s your star sign/ Meyers Briggs type? Classic earth sign here – I’m a Capricorn 🐐 My Meyers Briggs is (E/I)NFP.

Where did you grow up? Where were you born? I was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia before moving across the country’s east coast (Sydney and later Brisbane). I’m now a Bath resident.

Favourite book to date? There’s honestly too many, but I’ve always loved Black Beauty; I credit it as the book that got me into reading as a kid. Blackberries by Seamus Heaney is one of my favourites too although it’s technically a poem 🤫

Favourite movie? Tough one! I adore Baz Lurhman’s Great Gatsby (2013) and also have a soft spot Emma (2020).

Favourite dog breed? Has to be Corgis 🐶

Do you have any pets? Yes, the cutest little rescue cat 🐈 Her name is Juniper. I adopted her in 2020 and she followed me all the way here to the UK!

Favourite word? Nostalgia! Closely followed by bloom, aloof, and whimsical.

Least favourite word? Phlegm.

Ideal music playlist? Definitely depends on the vibe I’m after – for sunny and feel good it would have to be some Etta James, Harry Styles, Maya Hawke – for the more moody cosy days it’s more like Mazzy Star, Noah Kahan, Leith Ross, Hozier. I’m a sucker for some Taylor Swift as well.

Dream holiday destination? Anywhere in Scandinavia.

Any role models? Definitely my parents, also my friend Ivy. Maybe even my cat, simply for how carefree she seems!

Something about you we would never be able to guess? I can play the flute!

Name 3 things that make you happy: Wildflowers in unexpected places, warm candles on cold days, and the people I love all in one place.
