The Flexible Space Associaition
Amplifying the voice of an industry tradebody
The Challenge
The UK’s flexible workspace trade body, the Business Centre Association (BCA), rebranded as the Flexible Space Association (FlexSA) in 2019.
With its new name and sharpened focus, FlexSA set out to strengthen its position as the leading voice of the UK flexible workspace industry. The organisation aimed to raise its profile, attract new members, and celebrate the success of existing ones. At the heart of this transformation was the need for a dynamic platform: one that could spotlight member achievements, foster industry-wide conversations, and address the pressing issues facing flexible workspaces today.
Working with FlexSA for over four years, and teaming up with Spaces to Places marketing consultancy, our goal was to help elevate the organisation’s visibility, refine its messaging, and ensure its communications consistently reflected its position as the authoritative voice of the UK flexible workspace industry.
The Solution
Highlighting FlexSA’s industry impact was key
We partnered with Spaces to Places, a specialist property marketing consultancy, to deliver PR support backed by deep industry expertise. Working closely with FlexSA Executive Director Jane Sartin, we developed a series of thought leadership pieces addressing key sector topics—including the rapid growth of flexible workspaces, government changes to business rates, and the launch of internal initiatives like Flex Generation, which celebrates young professionals entering the industry.
We capitalised on the media’s interest in evolving work patterns post-Covid, securing coverage and providing timely, reactive commentary to both national and sector-specific press. Additionally, we amplified the voices of FlexSA members by sharing valuable data, insights, and highlights from regional events hosted by the organisation.
The results
1,000 locations milestone
Over the course of our partnership, FlexSA reached a major milestone representing over 1,000 flexible workspace locations across the UK. This growth was matched by a surge in media recognition, with FlexSA securing coverage in some of the most prestigious property and business publications, including Property Week, EG, CoStar, and All Work Space. The organisation also became a respected voice in wider media conversations about the future of work, contributing expert commentary to outlets such as Raconteur and MSN.
